Community Partnership Between North Al Batinah Governorate and Oman Broadband Company Develop the Local Community, Train Job Seekers, and Support Home-based Businesses

The Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah and Oman Broadband Company have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing local development in the governorate through a series of community festivals and events focused on training job seekers, empowering home-based businesses, and supporting their participation in economic activity. This agreement marks an important step in the joint efforts of both parties to develop national capabilities and elevate community engagement, positively reflecting the overall quality of life in the governorate.

According to the agreement, both parties will collaborate in implementing community and economic initiatives that combine training, empowerment, and support for small enterprises. The agreement also falls within the framework of Oman Broadband Company’s social responsibility programs, which aim to enhance the role of the private sector in serving communities and developing governorates through strategic partnerships with government entities.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Nasser bin Mubarak Al-Hinai, Deputy CEO for Commercial and Strategic Affairs at Oman Broadband Company, and Eng. Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Hinai, Director General of North Al Batinah Municipality. This reaffirms the strength of the partnership between the public and private sectors and their role in supporting development initiatives.

Eng. Nasser bin Mubarak Al-Hinai, Deputy CEO for Commercial and Strategic Affairs at Oman Broadband Company, explained that this agreement reflects the company’s continued commitment to its social responsibilities. He emphasized that such partnerships form a key pillar in maximizing national impact. He said:
“We are keen for our initiatives to go beyond financial support, focusing instead on building real capabilities for youth, creating a suitable environment for the development of sustainable projects, and working through this cooperation to generate training and employment opportunities while enhancing the presence of home-based businesses within the local economic ecosystem alongside the efforts of the competent authorities in the governorate.”
He added that the company will continue investing in programs that strengthen social and economic inclusion in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

For his part, Eng. Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Hinai, Director General of North Al Batinah Municipality, affirmed that this partnership represents an effective model of institutional integration. He noted that North Al Batinah Governorate continues to implement various qualitative initiatives that contribute to supplying the labor market with new skills and expanding opportunities for home-based businesses. He said:
“We are working within the governorate to build a supportive environment for community-driven initiatives, and this agreement represents a genuine addition to the development path. We are confident that its impact will be clearly reflected in youth empowerment and in improving the income of home-based businesses.”

This agreement represents a significant step in supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 related to economic and social development across the governorates. It underscores the commitment of both parties to building national partnerships that contribute to the advancement of the governorates and strengthen public–private integration in the service of Omani society and its sustainable development.
