Oman Broadband Company Signs Agreements with the Ministry of Housing and Real Estate Developers to Enhance Optical Fiber Infrastructure for Residential Projects

Oman Broadband Company has signed multiple cooperation agreements with developers of integrated residential neighborhoods under the “Sorouh” initiative, overseen by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. The signing took place during the 21st edition of the Oman Real Estate Exhibition and Conference (OREX), held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The agreements aim to equip residential development projects with state-of-the-art optical fiber infrastructure, enhancing the readiness of modern urban master plans and supporting the creation of integrated, sustainable residential communities across the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The signed agreements cover a diverse portfolio of development projects, specifically:

  • Husn Al Zain Project in the Wilayat of Bidbid, with Zain Real Estate Development.
  • Nasmah Zain Project in the Wilayat of Sur, with Zain Real Estate Development.
  • Hay Al Falah Project in Jaalan Bani Bu Hasan, with Tanfeedh Real Estate.
  • Hay Al Multaqa Project in the Wilayat of Rustaq, with Asawer Real Estate and Noor Majan Real Estate.
  • Hay Al Muzn Project in the Wilayat of Samail, with Jood Real Estate Development.
  • Hay Al Salam Project in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi, with Sorouh Al Buraimi Real Estate.
  • Integrated Residential Neighborhoods Project in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, with Al Masa Real Estate.

These strategic partnerships are designed to foster integration between government entities, the private sector, and real estate developers. The primary objective is to deploy a comprehensive digital infrastructure and ultra-high-speed optical fiber networks within residential projects from their earliest planning stages. This proactive approach will significantly raise service efficiency, improve the quality of life for residents, and support national digital transformation pathways.

Speaking on the occasion, Eng. Khalfan bin Mohammed Al Amri, Vice President of Technology at Oman Broadband Company, stated that these agreements represent a crucial step in strengthening the company’s partnerships with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and residential project developers. He emphasized that the company’s efforts are ongoing to expand the coverage of ultra-high-speed optical fiber networks to encompass various new urban master plans, ensuring their digital readiness from inception and contributing to the construction of sustainable smart cities that support digital transformation in Oman.

From his side, Mr. Nasser bin Khamis Al Siyabi, Director General of Real Estate Development at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, affirmed that these agreements reinforce the joint efforts between Oman Broadband Company, the “Sorouh” program, and real estate development companies. He noted that delivering advanced digital infrastructure to residential development projects from their initial stages is essential for developing modern, sustainable urban master plans and prosperous communities that align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
