Oman Broadband, represented by the Ministry of Network Planning & Technology, participated in the APC Conference 2023 for fibre optics and cables, which was held at the Convention & Exhibition Centre known as “Optics Valley” in Wuhan, China, from 16 – 18 May 2023.
Eng. Khalfan bin Mohammed Al Amri, GM Network Planning & Technology, submitted a working paper titled “The Role of Fibre Optics in Digital Transformation in the Sultanate of Oman” where he touched on Oman Broadband’s national strategy, network coverage throughout the Sultanate’s governorates, the company’s future trajectory in distributing Oman Broadband’s network in the next three years, and areas of cooperation between Oman Broadband and different clients in this field.
The aim behind participating in such conferences is to emphasize the importance of fibre optics in building a digital society; to exchange expertise and experience with other countries; to keep up with the latest developments and updates in the world of fibre optics and all the advanced and developed technologies related to building and deploying fibre optics through meeting with many specialized companies in this field.
